๐ŸCricket Update ๐Ÿ

27 Nov by Giannina Taeger

On the weekend before last, the B-Grade lads went over to Parafield Gardens for their Round 6 match, which turned out to be a one-sided affair, in Fitzroy's favour. Lucas Baggio (3/12) and Rayyan Ahmed (3/20) tore through the Parafield Gardens batting lineup, dismissing them for 103 before Tamoor Sarfraz (51) and Obaidullah Ahmed (43) put the game to bed in just over 11 overs.
The A-Grade came within sight of an unlikely victory against the top side in Salisbury West, bowling first and heading into the drinks break with eight batsmen already removed, thanks largely to Aaron Burgess winding back the clock (4/30) and a lion-hearted effort from the skipper in Prashant Singh (2/22). A wagging tail got Salisbury West to a modest total of 143, but sadly for the A-Grade, only Justin Keast (18) and Prashant Singh (18) could get going with the bat. Wickets fell rapidly around them, Fitzroy all out for a disappointing 71.
For Round 7 last weekend, all matches were abandoned due to the inclement weather and we're hoping for better conditions this week as our A-Grade heads to Greenwith to take on the Titans, whilst the B's host NEK at home.
Go the 'Roys!
